Special news for this coming summer's INA Boys
(Iroquois, Navajos, and Apaches)

As members of our Upper Senior Camp, the INA Boys program “keeps getting better.” The INA Boys program balances traditional Camp Hillard activities with exciting and challenging new programs, special activities and special events.

While groups remain small and personal, INA BOYS participate in our sports specialization program, , more advanced sports leagues and plenty of choice activities in sports, adventure, arts and theater.

SWIMMING AT CAMP HILLARD

INA's swim twice a day in our 2 Olympic-size senior camp pools.

Pool # 6 is a 25-meter long pool that is 3 1/2 feet in the shallow end and 9 feet in the deep end and includes a 3/4-meter diving board. Pool # 7 is a 25-yard pool which is 3 feet to 5 feet deep, complete with racing lanes and flip turn markers. This state of the art swim facility allows our older campers to continue to improve and be challenged at all swimming levels.

In addition, our 135 foot long Water Park Slide adds another element of excitement to our Sr. Camp Pool Complex!

Our fully certified swim staff provides INA's with an opportunity to develop individual skills in a challenging, safe, and supportive environment.

Our swim program also features:

• 40-minute swim lessons each morning.

• Small Camp Hillard Aquatics Groups organized by ability. All groups are taught by certified instructors.

• Instruction in all major strokes, diving, deep-water techniques and water safety.

Campers can also earn American Red Cross swim cards. Lots of encouragement and practice is provided throughout the summer to help you meet this challenge.

 

Afternoon Free swim is a highlight of the day!

• 40-minute long periods.

• Free swim is full of fun, including the water park slide, boat races, swim races, water polo, water basketball, and our special swim events such as our crazy dives contest and annual swim races.

• Proper safety and supervision at all times.

• Towels are provided by Camp for all swim periods.

INA BOYS SPORTS PROGRAM

As an INA, you will get a chance to further develop all of your sports skills, be involved in many new activities highlighted by our Sports Specialization Programs, Golf, Extra Tennis, Archery, and more advanced Sports Leagues and Clinics.

Superb sports instruction in basketball, baseball, soccer, street hockey, football, lacrosse and tennis, with a focus on the fundamental skills. Game play is highlighted by sports leagues featuring longer periods for longer games. Larger fields, higher baskets, and larger soccer balls and basketballs are utilized. Extra tennis and golf are available through the weekly elective program, Individual Activity Choice.

In addition to game play in all sports, there are weekly sports clinics in baseball, soccer, hockey, basketball, and lacrosse to develop the fundamentals of the game. Instruction is provided by some of the finest coaches in the area.

SPORTS SPECIALIZATION PROGRAMS

This program is the best of both worlds! A hybrid between specializing in a sport of choice and participating in the traditional camp program.

INA Boys have the option of specializing 3 mornings a week in soccer, baseball, or basketball. This program, led by some of the finest coaches in the area, focuses on advanced skills and game play. In the afternoon campers participate in the regular camp program.

Sports Specialization is a great choice for those campers looking to improve their skills for recreational or travel teams!

SPORTS LEAGUES

Sports leagues provide lots of excitement, healthy competition, and fun as well as strengthening skills, developing good sportsmanship and teamwork. INA's play street hockey, soccer, baseball, basketball, flag football, box lacrosse, and volleyball as part of Sports Leagues, which are highlighted by the end of the summer playoffs.

SPORTS OR ARTS - AS AN INA YOU MAKE THE CHOICE!

Sports choice, arts club, hobby choice - Campers can choose either specific sports or arts depending on their interests. Sports choices include baseball, basketball, soccer, street hockey, lacrosse, flag football, tennis, and golf.

Arts club and hobby choice include such favorites as clay, wood crafts, music, nature, beads, cartooning, drawing, drumming, theater workshops, chess and checkers, and table top games.

THEATER CLUB

In addition, the boys can also choose Theater Club, and participate in co-ed performances. The Camper shows are put on at the end of the summer and truly provide a memorable experience for our Senior Camp Boys!

SPECIAL PROGRAMS

Optional Off-Site Horseback Riding Program
This program allows campers to get more formal riding instruction at Twin Lake Farms in Bronxville. The program is for riders of all levels. This program is optional and requires an additional fee.

Individual Activity Choice
This popular program provides campers with an opportunity to choose an activity they would like to concentrate on. The program offers many choices so that campers have an opportunity to take part in different activities. The more popular choices include:

Golf Skills Center and Driving Range
The Golf Skills Center provides campers with the opportunity to learn golf skills in a fun and successful way. This facility incorporates practice putting greens to teach putting skills, a sand trap, a 3 station golf driving range and a 6 station SNAG range. The golf skills center utilizes a program called SNAG Golf (Starting New At Golf), a program that introduces golfers to the fundamentals of driving, pitching and chipping skills. SNAG Golf utilizes special equipment to correctly teach the game of golf in a way that's easier for less experienced players. The driving range allows more experienced campers to drive real golf balls with real clubs. This program is offered during individual activity choice.

Expanded Tennis
INA's enjoy tennis as part of their weekly schedule and during Individual Activity Choice. In addition, campers may choose to participate in extra tennis periods during the week. Our end of the summer INA tennis challenge is another highlight of the program.
